Notes:
American hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia hail from Memphis, Tennessee and formed in 1991. They brought a horror-themed sound to their underground raps, but eventually saw plenty of mainstream success. Their long player debut in 1995, Mystic Stylez, became a cult classic but it is The End which gets reissued here. It was the group's first non-lo-fi music record in 1996 and so marked a distinct change in production from their debut. With help from gets like K-Rock & Killa Klan Kaze and Project Pat, it snakes its way through low slung west coast hop hip sounds, with crispy percussion, dark bass and well articulated raps.
