Notes:
Another bumper collection of hot-to-trot re-edits from the shadowy Funtown imprint, a hush-hush offshoot of the rapidly expanding Hot Biscuit Recordings empire. It's a second double-pack of 'versions' from long-time friend of the family NAD, aka Idjut Boys member Dan Tyler. He kicks things off with 'Riding High', a stretched-out take on a chugging, mid-tempo, string-drenched and wide-eyed disco shuffler, before rounding off record one with the deeper, slower and jazzier lusciousness of 'Make It Right Tonight' and the slap-bass-propelled disco-rap of 'Skate Groove'. On record two, the killer cuts are Clavinet sporting, lightly dubbed opener 'Afro Kissed' (a take on an Afro-disco heater) and eyes-closed end of night disco heater 'Love Downer', which Tyler rebuilds creatively and impressively via a lengthy beat-free intro and lots of his favoured effects.
