Aft6er a surprise 18-month hiatus, James Greenwood is back with an eight batch of Semi-Skimmed Edits. Stretched out across the A-side you'll find the infectious, summery, sultry and pleasingly humid 'Commercial Break', a colourful, keyboard solo-heavy revision of what sounds like a salsa-influenced European dancefloor workout of the early house era. We could imagine the late, great DJ Alfredo playing it at Amnesia sometime around 1987. He switches to mash-up mode on 'Everybody Everywhere', adding vocals from an old Black Box Italo-house smash to a blend of Afro-disco and organic deep house, before rearranging a kaleidoscopic, boogie-era jazz-funk gem on closing cut 'U & Me'.
