Formed in London in the mid-70s by producer Alan Parsons and songwriter Eric Woolfson, The Alan Parsons Project fused studio precision with sci-fi anxiety, nowhere more so than on their 1977 album I Robot. Here, New York-based spiritual house figure Joe Claussell revisits two of its key moments with characteristically expansive intent. His mix of 'The Voice' stretches the original's surveillance-era tension into a slow-burning, percussive meditation, with strings and synths unfurling over patient, ritualistic drums. On 'I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You', Claussell loosens the rock chassis and extends the groove into dubby abstraction circling the riff. This is circuitry rerouted toward the dancefloor and the cosmos.
