Rawax continues its Fresh And Low reissue program with another treasure from the vaults of the UK tech house pioneers Julian Dembinski, David Robertson and Calum Walker, as it was back in their mid-90s heyday before just Wilson remained years later. This time the focus is on a 1997 EP that came originally on West Side Records. 'New Life' is perfectly indicative of their style - laidback and breezy tech house but with bite. Soft toms pitter-patter over the kicks with an infusion of humid synths adding the immersive essentials. 'Seven Miles Up' is a more dreamy midnight roller with swirling ambience and 'Dream' slows to a dubby, elephantine swagger. 'No Going Back' is the most driven of the lot with hints of hi-tech Detroit soul and an aching vocal finishing it in style.
