Notes:
Like some half-remembered afterhours transmission bleeding through blown speakers at sunrise, Tallinn's Squash arrives on R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings with four tracks immersed in the syrupy haze of early tech house. It's the sort of record that understands this sound worked best when it felt slightly off-balance and physical, grooves dragging behind the beat like stragglers drifting out of the club at 7am. 'Point Blank' opens with stomping drums and blurred synth smears, then 'Mainline' sinks deeper into rolling percussion and thick bass weight. 'Soulburn' opens the space slightly through warmer pads and gentler movement. Last of all is 'Cherry Top', where rubbery low-end and sunstruck ambience dissolve together beautifully.
