Notes:
Re-edit specialists Hot Biscuit Recordings have scored something of a coup here, securing some rare scalpel jobs from Sound Signature associate and long-serving Detroit producer Andres Ordonez aka Specter. It's a predictably high-grade collection all told, with Ordonez first reworking what sounds like a boogie-era, Spanish language workout rich in spacey synths, passionate vocals, heady horn blasts, suntle Italo-disco references and clipped guitars. On 'Show Off', he turns his hand to tweaking a stomping, energetic and effervescent slab of Afro-boogie/Afro-funk fusion, while 'Do The Groove' is a fine rearrangement of an Afro-rock-meets-Afro-funk gem rich in heady saxophone solos, weighty mid-tempo grooves and expressive male lead vocals.
