Notes:
Taken from Roi Azulay's Full Length Reflection LP cat number SRMLP 1010.
Having acted as executive producer and 'music supervisor' on Roi Azulay's deep house/Middle Eastern jazz-folk fusion set Reflections (an album released back in 2023), Joaquin Joe Clausell is the perfect person to remix it - or at least a couple of cuts from the sprawling set. Claussell is of course a master at this kind of thing, frequently offering up sublime, stretched-out reinterpretations. He delivers two takes on title track 'Reflections', first offering up a breezy, sun-splashed 'Sacred Rhythm' version rich in softly spun jazz guitars, spiritual house rhythms, layered percussion, spacey synth textures and heady vocalisations, before rounding off the EP with a hybrid Balearic/ambient 'Cosmic Arts' take. Sandwiched in between you'll find the ethereal and exotic deep house haziness of Roi's rework of 'All Is Well'.
