Newly recovered from early-90s Chicago tape reels, Warehouse Trax captures Windy City favourite K Alexi in an instinctive mood. The 'Dark Entries' EP gathers six previously unreleased cuts that balance acid menace with soulful undertones but all rooted firmly in the lineage of the legendary Music Box. Salsa-tinged rhythms and warm bass drive 'Jungle Line', while 'Protect and Survive' slows things down with emotional weight and hip-house swing. Elsewhere, 'Aaaah' leans into tougher rave aesthetics, its pounding drums and ominous pads recalling Europe's harder underground, before 'Klub Dred' flips the script with stripped-back half-time dub and clipped vocal echoes. A vital snapshot of Chicago house history that still sounds alive.
