While nowhere near as prolific as his good friend and fellow Strictly Jaz Unit co-founder Glenn Underground, Boo Williams has still released a wealth of seriously good deep house music over the last three decades. Here he adds another fine 12" to that deep back catalogue - a first missive for fast-rising Italian imprint Frequencies Rhythm Life. Title track 'Mind Games' is simply superb and sees the long-serving Chicagoan wrap dreamy chords and sunrise-ready synth solos around a cosmic-tinged deep house groove and lashings of smile-inducing sonic positivity. 'Fretless Groove', which naturally features some distinctive fretless bass tones, is another colourful and melody-rich deep house workout, while 'The Awakening' offers nods aplenty to the spiritual house excellence of Joaquin 'Joe' Clausell and fellow Chicagoan Ron Trent.
